As a result of the design thesis at OCAD U, I spent the first semester researching the subject matter and understanding the breadth of the topic. I soon realized that it is quite eclectic as it addresses numerous cultural, religious, sociological, economic, and psychological factors.
The second semester was dedicated to execute a design deliverable and present to the graduating class. This was a challenge because as much as I dived deeper and deeper into the subject, I could not find a problem to solve. Instead, I designed a solution that illustrates key findings, comments on modern societal behaviour, and urges people to reflect on their own approaches.

BUILDING THE SPACE
Design derived by one of the eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism that represent teaching qualities for the enlightened mind. The symbol is based on the Endless or Eternal Knot which symbolizes longevity and wisdom; a fitting representation for the tenacity of superstitions and its ability to overshadow what is considered rational or wise.
